Advocating for Children’s Health
WHO: Children’s hospital patients and their families will travel from their cities and towns to Washington, D.C.WHAT: Family Advocacy Day enables patient families to meet with members of Congress on issues directly affecting their children’s care—issues that matter to kids across the United States. This year, they will ask Congress to safeguard Medicaid and thank them for passing the ACE Kids Act, which will improve care for children with complex medical conditions in Medicaid. Participants will also talk to lawmakers about strengthening the bipartisan Children's Hospitals Graduate Medical Education (CHGME) program, which supports the training of over half the nation’s new pediatric doctors.
WHEN: Tuesday, June 25, and Wednesday, June 26
