-A Landscape of Child Care Activities

Kochi-Kanchar Mela which means a gathering of budding kids, is one of the leading organization of the Juvenile and children of the country. Affiliated to the central body,Gandaria Kisholoy Kochi-Kanchar Mela began its journey in 1972 right after the independence of the country. Among its various activities, its program primarily focuses on science, literature, music, dance, recitation, arts and painting. Aiming at achieving a very high standard of excellence, the organizers seek to bring out the best in a child nourishing all the potentials latent in him. The ultimate goal is to create a new breed and creed of worthy citizens of the country.

Key Activities:
Kisholoy Kamal Memorial Library : Story book, novel, drama, poetry books for children are available in this library. The library is open for all children. Open: Thursday from 3.00 pm to evening. Friday: From 9.00 am to 12.00 am and from 3.00 pm to evening. In this time children can use to read and borrow books from the library.
Kochi-Kacha Bidyaniketan (Kindargarten School) : This is a pre-school institution. The method learning by playing is the way here to prepare the children for primary school. Timing of the school: Sat to Thursday from 8 am to 11 am.
Kisholoy Oboitonik Bidyaloy (Free School) : This is a school for less privileged children and who are engaged in hazards labor. After finishing the primary education they are given vocational training to make them skilled to keep up with their livelihood. We have a future plan to support and give them small loan to establish their own business to use their skills.
We supply school dresses and other educational material to the children free of cost. School timing: Thursday: from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
Kisholoy Charukala (Painting School) Kendra : To develop a child’s creativity we have a painting school which is seven years of duration with proper curriculum for creative art. Timing of the school: Friday: 8 am to I I am and Saturday 3 pm to 5 pm.
Kisholoy Lolitkala (Fine Art School) Kendra : Traditional song, dance, recitation, acting and pronunciation training are given here of various duration for the children. Timing of the school: Thursday: 3 pm to evening and on Friday 3 pm to evening.

- 26 March : Cultural Program and discussion session
- 15 April : Cultural Program in the morning featuring Bengali New Year.
- 10 July : Discussion and cultural Program featuring anniversary of the organization.
- 5 October : Child rally and cultural Program featuring World children’s day.
- 16 December : Yearly Art Exhibition and cultural Program featuring Victory day. Every alternative year organizing child educational camp.
- Every alternative year organizing an international children Painting competition title “Zainul-Quamrul International Children’s Painting Competition”.
